In the seminar, scholars from South Africa and the UK reflect on the ways in which Covid-19 is shaping women’s work and family obligations in different parts of the world. Nonzuzo Mbokazi, Ameeta Jaga, Elena Moore, Angela O’Hagan and Sara Cantillon discuss the gendered, racialised and classed dimensions of lockdown in relation to women’s caring obligations and work activities. The participants reflect on the similarities and divergences across the different contexts.
